2. Bertha Sekdorian has joined the Museum’s Board of Trustees, and since her retirement from the Administration Department of Queensborough Community College, she has been assisting and coordinating many of the projects involved with the Museum’s programs.

3. The Saroyan film, “Hello Out There,” has been entered into several film festivals. The director, Tim
Armen O’Hanlon, is attending the Cannes Film
Festival in May.

4. The “Ladies From Your Past” exhibit, scheduled for October opening, is still in the research stages. If you have a favorite lady from your past, please call 718-428-5650.

5. A large 39x32 poster of the 1915 Armenian Genocide Survivors, who were residents in 1984 at the Armenian Home in Flushing, will be displayed during the Armenian
Cultural Awareness Weekend.

 

6. Our talented web designer,
Varoujan Froundjian. is experimenting with digitally created
abstract artwork. Could this be the beginning of the end of paints, brushes and canvasses? We look forward to the results.

 

7. Sports Illustrated writer, Bryan
Armen Graham, (yes! He’s
Armenian) has been invited to speak on Youth Night, Saturday, May 14 at the
Armenian Cultural Awareness Weekend.

 

8. We welcome Josh Wilcox, an anthropology major from the Anthropology Department at Queens College as our new docent volunteer. We still have 2 slots open for volunteers once a week for 3 hours. Can you give the Museum a few hours a week to make your life more meaninful to
others? Do you have a creative flair?
